September Cruise FAQs

Is September a good month to cruise?

A September sailing generally means smooth sailing, great weather and lower-than-average prices. Whether you’re a family wanting to take advantage of the last few days of the school holidays at the beginning of the month or a couple looking for a great getaway somewhere exciting once prices start dropping, you really can have it all in the ninth calendar month! The lower prices also make this a great time to embark on one of our great selections of fly-cruises where you can jet-set your way to the likes of the Caribbean, Alaska, Dubai and more. While you’re at it, why not add a resort stay into the mix? Our incredible deals mean you can get away for less in September and enjoy all the wonderful sights and experiences for even longer.

Where is the best place to go on a cruise in September?

There are plenty of destinations you can travel to by cruise ship in September, regardless of what type of holiday you’re searching for. If sunshine is a big priority, the Mediterranean is a great choice. For adventure, we recommend the USA if you’d still like some heat sprinkled into your cruise holiday, or New Zealand if you prefer temperatures on the cooler side for exploring.

Is September good for a Mediterranean cruise?

Mediterranean weather in September makes this the perfect time to get well acquainted with the cities, towns and countless beach destinations on offer. The end of the school holiday also brings fewer families, so many of the most popular destinations are slightly quieter and easier to stroll around at your own pace. But remember, the cruise season is still in full swing in the Med at this time of year, so you can expect a few crowds to keep things lively.

Which Greek Island is still hot in September?

September is a great month to visit any combination of the Greek islands because you can still enjoy warm and sunny weather regardless of which ones you choose to stop off at. If you're looking for the hottest temperatures though, be sure to add Kos and Cyprus to your itinerary. Cyprus has an average temperature of 31 degrees, with sea temperatures sticking around the mid-twenties and clear blue skies daily. In Kos, the average temperature in September is 28 degrees, making it the perfect destination for sunbathing under the hot sunshine.

Even on some of the other islands like Santorini and Rhodes, temperatures will rarely drop below 25 degrees. So if you want to enjoy the still blazing hot sunshine in some of the less popular spots at this time of year, it might be worth including a few of the other islands on your cruise.
