Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world. It is a very popular tourist destination with many attractive and glittering cities. Famous for its golden beaches and natural beauty, you will never find yourself with nothing to do whilst in Brazil. With the addition of the world cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016, thousands of people will be descending on Brazil to enjoy its vibrant celebrations and its bustling cities.

Here are some of the things you should be sure to check out during your stay in Brazil:

Christ the Redeemer

Christ the Redeemer is an iconic statue of Jesus Christ located at the top of Corcovado mountain. Standing over Rio de Janeiro at 30 metres high (not including it’s 8-metre pedestal), it is considered the largest art statue in the world.

 

Rio de Janeiro

This vibrant city is renowned for its velvet golden beaches and beautiful scenery. Be sure to visit beaches such as Ipanema and Copacabana, which are some of the most famous in the world. With the city lights behind, after you have relaxed in the sun, dine at a beach front restaurant or saunter through the fashionable high streets with many high-end boutiques.

Rio also offers glorious mountain ranges, such as Sugar Loaf and Corcovado. Sugar Loaf Mountain is one of the best places to view the city, with glorious views of Guanabara Bay, Copacabana and Botafogo Beach. By taking a cable car up to Corcovado, you will see the infamous statue of Christ the Redeemer and will also be able to view the impressive harbour.

 

Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo is the hub of Brazil. It’s Brazil’s largest and richest city. It offers many wonderful sights such as the Sao Paulo Cathedral, which was built in 1967. With marble designs throughout, it can hold up to 8,000 people. There are also many other spectacular sights, such as the Sao Paulo Museum of Art, Ibirapuera Park and many more.

Iguazu Falls

The Iguazu Falls is a spectacular natural wonder in Parana, situated on the border of Brazil and Argentina. It is the widest waterfall in the world at 1.7 miles wide. It is a breathtaking sight that you will cherish forever, make sure you take a rain coat and hat as you may get a little wet.
