The All New Carnival Mardi Gras!
Designed for fun-fuelled vacation innovation, the new Mardi Gras is Carnival’s biggest ship ever. The new Mardi Gras obviously has a LOT more innovative features while living up to its original fun ship’s legacy. The ship is split into six themed zone areas packed with new experiences for entertainment, eating, drinking and having some fantastic fun.
The six fun-filled zones are:
- French Quarter - live music, brand-new bars and restuarants will feature in this area styled after New Orleans' famed French Quarter.
- Summer Landing - a relaxing area with casual dining venues, hot tubs and a pool.
- Grand Central - a new take on the traditional atrium concept.
- La Piazza - inspired by Italy, La Piazza will feature an Cucina del Capitano and a new Mediterranean seafood restaurant.
- Lido - home to the incredible Guy's Burger Joint as well as a range of bars and other eateries.
- Ultimate Playground - featuring the world's first rollercoaster at sea, Carnival's largest waterpark along with an expanded SportSquare.

The first rollercoaster at sea
One of the Ultimate Playground’s highlights is BOLT, the first rollercoaster at sea. This dazzling new innovation mixes a race car with a rollercoaster. Thrill seekers can go full throttle, or if you’ve always been terrified of the breakneck speed of normal rollercoasters, you simply have to go light on the pedal for a calmer experience and better sea views. The race track has length 244 m (800 ft), with twists, turns, drops and speeds up to 64 kph (40 mph). Individual speeds are posted after each race.
Summer Landing
Carnival calls Summer Landing “the greatest chill spot at sea.” There is an excellent pool and whirlpool as well as plenty of sun loungers to simply laze by the pool. In this backyard barbecue-style zone you'll also find an expanded Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse. A great area to sit back and relax!
French Quarter
Inspired by the beauty and intoxicating atmosphere of New Orleans, this zone is full of bars and eateries that pay homage to this fabulous city. This zone features a brand-new restaurant from American Celebrity-chef Emeril Lagasse - his first restaurant at sea. Emeril's Bistro 1396 will serve up delicious Creole cuisine such as fried oysters, BBQ shrimp and duck & sausage gumbo! Add on incredible desserts and an authentic Crescent City atmosphere and it sounds like a winner to us!
The Watering Hole
Situated within The Patio at Summer Landing
The Watering Hole is modelled after a fun backyard gathering spot and is the perfect space for guests to unwind, grab a cocktail and enjoy sweeping sea views. The bar boasts a wide beer selection including Carnival's own canned and draft brews, as well as refreshing summer-inspired sips like the Watermelon Cooler and Tequila Sunset.
