The largest pyramids in Egypt, the Pyramids of Giza are truly iconic and the only surviving member of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Over 480ft in height, the structure weighs more than 6.5 million tonnes each and were unparalleled in scale for over 4,000 years.

Today, the Pyramids are easily accessible from Cairo itself and can be reached by coach. At the site, you will also have the opportunity to see the mesmerising Sphinx and Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. The museum is home to a fantastic array of historic treasures - such as the death mask of Tutankhamun and colossal sculptures from the reign of Akhenaten.

The Nile is the longest river in the world - stretching from Alexandria to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. But it was in Egypt that the Nile had great social, religious and economic importance - and continues to be a popular cruise route for contemporary travellers. In fact, all of Ancient Egypt’s major cities were built along the Nile - including Luxor, Thebes, and Memphis. Today, cruise ships can visit these sites and witness some of the most impressive examples of art and architecture from the ancient world. From the Colossus of Ramses II at Ptah, to the Pyramid of Saqqara, a cruise along the Egyptian Nile is a once in a lifetime experience.

Another popular Egyptian cruise destination is the Red Sea and south Sinai region. Closely associated with Moses and the Old Testament, the Sinai region is beautiful and culturally rich - especially the monastery of St. Catherine’s. Located close to Mount Sinai, this exquisite site is a popular pilgrimage for tourists and Christians alike. Today, St. Catherine’s can be easily accessed by coach and is an extremely popular religious attraction for cruisers.
