ALMERÍA

Almería is a city in south-east Spain and is the capital city of Province. The city provides beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and its coastline. It is a very popular tourist destination and is steeped with history. It is located at the foot of a mountain range and is home to the magnificent Alcazaba, an Arab fortress built in 1931. The city centre is filled with cafés, restaurants, little boutiques and markets which are held every week, selling local produce.

The Alcazaba

La Alcazaba is Europe's largest fortress consists of three compounds. The first compound is the largest of the three and was designed as a military camp. The area has now been transformed into a large garden filled with a variety of flowers and plants. La Alcazaba can be easily reached by climbing narrow streets and from the top of its walls, you take in spectacular views of the city.
