Poolside, but with a Caribbean state of mind. RedFrog Rum Bar sits midship on Deck 9 beside the Lido Pool, ready with rum based cocktails by the glass or pitcher, plus ThirstyFrog Red draft beer.

Pull up for a cool drink between swims and let the poolside buzz do the rest. This one is for guests aged 21 and over.

Poolside on Lido Deck 9, beside the midship pool, BlueIguana Tequila Bar brings a Mexican-inspired excuse to pause between dips. Choose from tequila drinks, Mexican beers, frozen drinks and cocktails, including margaritas by the glass or pitcher.

If you are 21 or over, settle in with a Mexican beer cocktail and let the poolside atmosphere do the rest.

This vintage-themed cocktail pharmacy puts the mixologists in charge of your evening, blending spirits, fresh juices, infused syrups and spices into remedies with rather more flair than your usual prescription.

Choose the Restorative Basil Drop from the menu, or ask for a custom elixir, with or without alcohol. You will find it midships on Promenade Deck 5.

On Lobby Deck 3, this central atrium bar adds a splash of French Impressionist flair to your day, complete with a hand-painted mural inspired by famous paintings. Drop in for trivia, charades or a lively group game between other shipboard plans.

After dark, live music takes over and there is room for a dance or two. It is an easy spot to pause with a drink and see where the evening goes, though alcoholic drinks are for guests aged 21 or over.

For a proper sing-along, head aft to Blues Piano Bar on Promenade Deck 5. Order a cocktail, request a favourite and let the pianist do the rest.

Open from the evening until late, this 21-and-over lounge is made for hand-clapping, foot-tapping and giving your singing voice an outing. The piano may be doing the heavy lifting, thankfully.

At the aft end of Promenade Deck 5, Degas Lounge pairs golden ballet-dancer statues with a long bar and aft-facing windows. Settle in with a drink and give the sea views their due.

By night, you can catch Punchliner Comedy Club, with family-friendly and adult-only performances, or take on karaoke. Check the Carnival Hub App or daily Fun Times for the schedule.

By day, Alfred's is a quieter corner of Atlantic Deck 4, where you can settle in with a book, check your email or join the occasional trivia session. Rich wood panelling, murals and powder-blue ceiling accents give this art-themed lounge a little more polish than your average pit stop.

Come evening, it finds its rhythm with Latin music, dancing, live entertainment and regular karaoke. Check the daily programme for timings, as some late-night karaoke sessions are 18+.

When the evening calls for something louder than a quiet drink, head aft to Deck 5. Henri’s Nightclub swaps jungle paintings inspired by Henri Rousseau for DJ mixes, bright lights, strobes and special effects that keep the dance floor going into the early hours.

You can order from Carnival’s nightclub cocktail menu, with names such as DJ’s Fave and Turn-Table, although availability may vary by sailing. Pop by after dinner, then let the sensible bedtime wait its turn.

Vincent's is a jazz and cigar bar on Promenade Deck 5 aft, with a light, airy look inspired by Van Gogh's sunflower paintings. Settle in for drinks in a lounge made for an unhurried evening at sea.

There is a stage intended for live music, though performances are not guaranteed. It was used by smokers on the sailing reviewed by Cruise Critic, so choose another lounge if you would rather keep your evening smoke free.

Take your seat in Carnival Conquest's main show lounge, stretching across the forward end of decks 3, 4 and 5. With room for 1,400 guests, it is built for the big occasion.

Come for Las Vegas-style stage shows and included Playlist Productions, then keep an eye on the daily programme for bingo, courses and information events. No dinner required, just settle in and enjoy the show.
