Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city in Brazil and the sixth largest city in America. Rio is filled with golden beaches and gigantic mountains with vibrant nightlife. Rio de Janeiro is a breath taking city with tropical landscapes looking over the seafront to the string of tiny islands that lie scattered across the shoreline. The Cristo Redentor statue gazes over the city of Rio. The mountain rises straight up from the city and is visible from nearly every part of the city. This is one of the most popular statues in Rio and it offers magnificent views from the top of the hill.
This is one of Rio's best loved attractions, they are steps that lead up from Rua Joaquim Silva. The steps are covered with colourful mosaics and is a dedication to the residents of Brazil.
