CHANIA

Chania is the second largest city of Crete and is also the capital of the Chania regional unit. Chania is a land full of mountains and memorials of all past wars. Chania's old town is considered the most beautiful urban district in Crete with old fashioned market stalls and small, thin streets with restaurants alongside the coast. The city has so much to offer including beautiful scenery and vibrant nightlife around the town.

Chania Venetian Lighthouse

The Venetian Lighthouse is located on the edge of the pier in Chania Town. The lighthouse was initially built by the Venetians in 1570 and the reconstructed in 1830. The lighthouse no longer operates but visitors can walk along the venetian walls and view the port from the lighthouse.

Topolia Gorge

Topolia Gorge is located at West Crete and runs through two towns. The canyon is crossed by the River Tyflos which originates from Mount Dikeos. There is an easy and difficult hiking trail through the gorge and both offer panoramic views.
