When you find yourself between the Carnival Sunshine and some actual sunshine in the Bahamas, Caribbean, Bermuda, or Cuba, enjoyment at sea is guaranteed. Carnival Sunshine has been doused with an extra dose of fun, and there's plenty atop this ship, where you can spend your days being kissed by the warm rays of the sun.

Adventure junkies should try the Skycourse and the Speedway Splash water slide while leisure seekers will enjoy the spa and Carnival's largest Serenity area with plenty of space and even a waterfall. Everyone should enjoy the musical revues up on stage from Playlist Productions, while Hasbro, The Game Show gets families to have fun on stage.

Sunrise Dining Room

The Carnival Sunshine has two main dining rooms: the Sunrise dining room and Sunset dining room. The Sunrise dining room spans decks three and four and offers fixed dinner seatings at 6 pm and 8:15 pm on deck four. If you prefer their flexible Your Time Dining, you can pick your time anywhere between 5:45 pm and 9:30 pm on deck three. They get quite busy from 7 pm onwards, so you may want to arrive a bit early for the flexible dining slots. Breakfast is served in Sunrise on sea days. It's a sit-down, full-service menu with open seating.

Sunset Dining Room

This second main dining room is on deck three and offers fixed dinner seatings at 6 pm and 8:15 pm. During some meals, the waiters will sing and dance and parade around the dining room, especially if someone is celebrating their birthday. They have some items that's always available at dinner, which includes the salmon fillet, flat iron steak, chicken breast and pork chop. You can also pay extra for the always available steakhouse selections, which include broiled Maine lobster tail, surf and turf, filet mignon and New York strip loin steak.

Lido Marketplace

The ship's large main buffet is located midship on deck nine and opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, though hours vary. Carnival Deli, positioned at the back of the Marketplace, is worth a mention for serving some mouth-watering sandwiches and wraps from late morning to late at night, perfect for that in between meal. Swirls is a great ice cream and frozen yogurt stall, which is open 24 hours a day. They serve late night snacks at the Lido Marketplace from 11:30 pm to 1 am.

Guy's Burger Joint

This excellent burger joint has the best burgers on board, every day from around noon to 6 pm. The restaurant is a Carnival partnership with Food Network personality Guy Fieri. The burgers are all grilled to perfection and has several toppings to choose from. It is located close to the pool and have a surf shack look, which appeal to guests of all ages.

BlueIguana Cantina

This exquisite Mexican buffet opens for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. It's a great place to go for breakfast as they have arepas, huevos rancheros and made-to-order breakfast burritos. The fantastic food continues until the afternoon with freshly made tacos (chicken, fish, or pork) and burritos (beef, shrimp, chicken or bean). Scrumptious toppings include lime-infused rice and pico de gallo to beans and corn. The soft taco shells are freshly made, the food is delicious, and the lines are usually short, especially on port days.

The Chef's Table

The exquisite Chef's Table experience is bound to please even the most discerning foodie. The evening starts with cocktails and appetisers, followed by a tour of the kitchen and then leading on to an eight-course meal, hosted by one of the ship's master chefs. Book as early as possible as it is often sold out by the time the cruise departs.

Dr Seuss Breakfast

The whole family can enjoy this meal that is part breakfast and part journey into the tasty and whimsical world of Dr Seuss. As expected, this is a delicious feast of Green Eggs and Ham and other fantastical treats brought to you by the Cat in the Hat and Friends. It's recommended that you reserve a spot as this breakfast only takes place once or twice during the cruise on a sea day.

Cucina Del Capitano

This select Italian dining venue, located on deck nine, opens daily for lunch and dinner. Lunch is a casual meal with a pasta bar. You can choose what kind of pasta, sauce and toppings you want, and they then prepare it freshly and bring it to your table. This service is free. Dinner is a more formal paid for affair, which is reservation only. They have fees per adult and child and offer a great selection of Italian family favourites.

Jiji Asian Kitchen

This enticing Asian restaurant offers a full-service menu featuring a mix of exotic and familiar dishes designed to challenge and delight your senses. It may even bring you some extra luck as you enjoy your meal among Asian prayer rolls and Mongolian-inspired fabrics that infuse northern-country style. Reservations are recommended.

Bonsai Sushi

Bonsai Sushi has some of the best sushi you will ever have on the high seas. The contemporary dÃ©cor inspires calm with bonsai trees and the ambiance is cosy yet trendy. This lovely spot offers affordable yet delectable sushi and sashimi as well as rolls, sides, soups, sakes, Kirin beers and desserts.

Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse

Fahrenheit 555 offers a memorable culinary experience, with their cuts of prime beef offerings cooked to perfection, as well as a wide array of premium seafood. Their steaks are out of this world and include mouth-watering options like Filet Mignon, New York Strip and Cowboy Steak, all of which are aged for 21 days.

Bars and Lounges

RedFrog Pub

RedFrog Pub is a laid-back Key West-inspired pub. Here, you can dominate at the foosball table, enjoy some sweet tunes from live musicians and sip their tasty signature private-label brew, ThirstyFrog Red. RedFrog Pub's bites include coconut shrimp, grouper fingers, firecracker Jamaican wings, Bahamian conch salad, Caribbean sliders, Jamaican jerk and pulled pork sandwiches.

RedFrog Rum Bar

With the Caribbean chill of the RedFrog pub moving poolside with this rum bar, it's a great place to enjoy a drink any time during the day and up to very late at night. Join the party to enjoy their great selection of frog-approved Caribbean rum-based concoctions, which you can buy by the glass or pitcher, plus plenty of Carnival's signature own draft beer, ThirstyFrog Red.

BlueIguana Tequila Bar

This tequila bar is famous for their margaritas, both frozen and on the rocks, in a variety of flavours. You can also grab a beer (or a bucket full), beer cocktail, pitchers of margaritas or spiked lemonade, soft drinks and virgin creations at this poolside outpost.

Alchemy Bar

This quirky bar is a firm Carnival cruise line favourite. It has a fun concept in which the mixologists wear lab coats and create cocktails as prescriptions. They have some fantastic cocktails available and they also hold mixology lessons here, which is well worth attending.

Pour Your Own Beer Station

This digital machine, which is located within the Paris restaurant, lets you swipe your card and pour a pint of icy-cold Miller Light beer without having to wait for a bartender.

Piano Bar

This beautiful piano bar is a great place to grab a drink. If you like singalongs, pull up a seat, order your favourite cocktail and let your friendly piano player know what you'd like to hear.

Limelight Lounge

All manner of entertainers, including fellow guests who want to show off their talents, take to the stage at the Limelight Lounge for entertainment ranging from comedy shows to karaoke. This is also home to the Punchliner Comedy Club. They also have a great cocktail menu.

Activities & Entertainment

Liquid Lounge Theatre

This 800-seat show lounge also doubles as the Carnival Sunshine's main theatre. They have four themed shows, which run about 30 to 40 minutes each: Motor City, Latin Nights, Epic Rock and Studio VIP. They also have interactive game show themed shows and plenty of events taking place during the day time.

Cloud 9 Spa

Cloud 9 is an oasis built from the ground up for relaxation, from a full complement of traditional spa services to the carefully-designed climates of Cloud 9's thermal suites. You can go there for a whole range of treatments including hot-stone massages, acupuncture, body sculpting, and several types of facials. A good tip is to go here on port days as they run several specials when they're not so busy. They also have some teen treatments available.

SkyFitness Gym

This gym is on the top floor, because if you're going to sweat it out during your cruise, why not do it outdoors and enjoy a great sea breeze. Grab some gloves and work the bag, grab a seat and work the bike, or work your way around the vita course for a little of everything.

Serenity Adults-Only Sun Deck

Just because you're on one of the most exciting cruise ships with all the bells and whistles, doesn't mean that you can't simply get away from it all sometimes. This triple-deck adult-only retreat is complete with hot tubs, cabanas, bars and a triple-height waterfall and plunge pool. It's the place to get done the kind of stuff you just can't seem to do anywhere else: reconnect with your partner, finish that book, or blissfully do nothing at all.

Casino

The Sunshine's Casino is a large space with a vast array of glittering slot machines as well as a great variety of table games. There is a lively crowd at the casino at any given time and some staff members on hand to help teach beginners the ropes. If you enjoy playing you should keep an eye out for their very lucrative tournaments.

Seaside Theatre

At night, the pool transforms into the ship's outdoor Seaside Theatre with Dive in Movies. The giant screen allows you to see a movie or sporting events from the comforts of a poolside lounge chair or even from the pool itself. Popular themes include Comedy, Action & Adventure and Date Night. They come with popcorn for everyone and blankets to snuggle up in.

Carnival WaterWorks

WaterWorks features 40 interactive water features, including the PowerDrencher, a giant tipping bucket, and five different slides, including the new racing-themed 235-foot Speedway Splash and a 334-foot-long and 47-foot-high Twister slide, the longest in the "Fun Ship" fleet. There is also a kids splash zone. Keep in mind that there are height and weight restrictions for these fast-flowing rides.

SportSquare

Sunshine's SportSquare includes a ropes course, mini-golf course, a basketball court, jogging track, table tennis, Foosball and pool tables.

Skycourse

Skycourse is a thrilling suspended ropes course on Deck 12, in which users negotiate obstacles while in a safety harness. The course features two levels of challenge, and you can increase or decrease the toughness as you go. Please note that participants must be 48 inches tall to take part.

Kids Clubs

Kids up to the age of eleven need to be signed in and out of Camp Carnival, which comprises three areas: one area for crafts, a second one for computer games and a third one for games. The older you are, the more chairs, video games and space to hang out you get.

The Circle C club on deck four is for younger teens aged 12 to 14, while some events are combined for all teens. The Club O2 on deck four is for older teens aged 15 to 17 and is a social hangout with planned activities. This well thought out area is complete with a non-alcoholic drinks bar, a lazy lounge area, a dance floor, and all the latest video games.
