The MSC Poesia was launched in 2008 as the third of MSC Cruises' four Musica class vessels. The decor is tasteful yet exuberant, with marble countertops, brass staircase handrails, twinkling lights in the theatre's ceiling and a very impressive waterfall in the atrium. It has some charming lounges like the Zebra bar, Hitchcock Lounge and the Il Grappolo d'Oro wine bar.

Entertainment wise there is something for everyone from pools and kids' activities to nightly entertainment for the adults. What we love about this ship is that its unabashedly European, and the onboard vibe, approach to service, and passenger habits all reflect that.

Butcher's Cut

Butcher’s Cut is an American-style steakhouse on Deck 13, where select Linz heritage Angus beef is custom-cut by master butchers and aged before it reaches your plate.

Choose a dry-aged T-bone, filet mignon or rib-eye, then add chimichurri and crispy fries. Reservations are required, so book ahead. Brunch may also be served on selected days from 10am to 2pm, check with your waiter.

Il Palladio

Il Palladio and Le Fontane are the MSC Poesia's two beautiful main restaurants that share the same mouth-watering menu. Dinner is served in set seating style with two seatings and a nice touch is that they seat people according to their nationality to encourage chatter and on board friendships.

Kaito Sushi

Freshly prepared sushi, sashimi and tempura take centre stage at this stylish speciality restaurant on Deck 7, Manzoni. Watch the chefs prepare your order in front of you, then work your way towards the Matcha Tea Ice Cream.

You can order à la carte or choose from dining-package options. Reservations are available, which is rather handy when the sushi mood strikes.

Le Fontane Ristorante

Le Fontane Ristorante is one of the ship’s main dining rooms, serving a changing menu of international dishes and Mediterranean favourites. Set on Deck 5, near Reception and Le Rendez-Vous Bar, it is an easy choice when you fancy a proper sit-down meal.

At dinner, your table and sitting time are generally assigned, so check your cruise card. Breakfast, lunch and occasional brunch may also be served here, with times listed in the daily programme or MSC for Me app.

MSC Yacht Club Restaurant

Reserved for MSC Yacht Club guests, this private Deck 7 restaurant brings Mediterranean and international dishes to the table, with gourmet creations made using local premium products. It is dining with a little more hush, and rather less queueing.

Your dedicated sommelier can help pair your meal with a pick from the wide wine selection. Flexible dining times mean you can eat when it suits you, then get back to the serious business of enjoying the ship.

Villa Pompeiana Buffet Restaurant

Villa Pompeiana on Deck 13 is your self-service answer to whatever you fancy, from breakfast through to late-night snacks. Expect international and Mediterranean flavours, with Indian dishes at the International Corner and a make-your-own ramen bar at lunch.

No reservations required, so you can eat when the mood strikes. Water, tea, coffee and fruit juices are included too, which is rather civilised.

Bars and Lounges

The Zebra bar

Find your spot at this intimate cocktail bar on Deck 6, where bartenders make selected aperitifs, cocktails and spirits to order. Zebra patterned seating, gold tables and lampshades give the room its own stripes, without trying too hard.

Stay for music and the dance floor when sitting still feels wildly overrated. With 439 seats, this is a proper evening venue, not merely a quick pre dinner stop.

Le Rendez-vous Bar

Settle into this atrium lobby bar on Deck 5, Petrarca Deck, beside Reception Guest Service. It is a handy meeting point for coffee, a refreshing drink and a pause before you decide what to do next.

Live music adds a little atmosphere during the day, while complimentary cookies and pastries make a coffee stop feel rather more civilised. Drinks are served à la carte, unless covered by an applicable MSC beverage package.

Pigalle Lounge

Pigalle Lounge is your Deck 7 spot for a drink, a sit-down and a little after-dark atmosphere. It is both a bar and an entertainment venue, so you can settle in rather than wander the ship hunting for the evening's action.

Live music has featured here, including big-band performances. Entertainment is free to attend, while drink inclusion is not separately confirmed. Check your daily onboard programme for what is on, as schedules vary by sailing.

Giada Bar

A polished meeting spot on Deck 6, Giada Bar is made for an aperitif with friends or a post dinner cocktail when the evening is still finding its feet.

You can sip carefully selected drinks made with fresh ingredients, including cocktails shaped by current mixology trends, while live piano music and a view do the rest. Smart evening wear is a sensible shout.

Mojito Bar

Pool time calls for something suitably chilled. Mojito Bar is your casual outdoor stop on Deck 13, Foscolo deck, set between the Coral Bay and Cayo Levantado pool areas.

Choose from mojitos, coladas, beers, wines and soft drinks, then settle in with friends or family while the pool deck does its thing. Drinks are served à la carte, though an applicable drinks package may cover selected choices.

Activities & Entertainment

Teatro Carlo Felice Theatre

Take your seat beneath the starry ceiling at MSC Poesia’s main theatre, a spacious auditorium with plush seating and a vibrant stage. Spread across Decks 6 Dante and 7 Manzoni at the forward end of the ship, it holds up to 1,240 guests.

You can catch Broadway style theatre shows and other onboard performances here, all included as part of your cruise. It is also used for conferences, though the real headline is settling in for an evening show with the hard work, namely getting there, already done.

Photo Shop & Gallery

Some holiday moments deserve better than getting lost among screenshots and supermarket lists. On Deck 7, Manzoni, the Photo Shop & Gallery lets you browse professional pictures taken from embarkation to gala night, including themed backdrops.

Having your photograph taken is complimentary and optional. Standard portraits need no appointment, while private sessions can be arranged onboard, subject to availability. View images at the Hub kiosks or on your own device via the ship's Wi-Fi.

Sport Center

On Deck 16, the Sport deck, you can swap the sun lounger for a proper run around with sea views as your sidelines. The outdoor Sport Center has courts for basketball, tennis and volleyball, plus a five-a-side football pitch.

Shoot hoops, serve an ace or gather a team for a kickabout. It is a full-body workout with considerably better scenery than your usual one.

Virtual Games

A family entertainment spot for virtual games, this compact video games room gives you a change of pace between pool time and shore days.

You will find it on Deck 14, Pascoli, opposite the I Dinosauri children’s play area. With 20 seats, it is a handy option when the competitive spirit needs an outing.

Casino Royal

Feeling lucky? Casino Royal on Deck 7, the Manzoni Deck, is where you can try your hand at roulette, blackjack and poker, or settle in with the slot machines.

There is bingo and lottery fun in the mix too, plus a dedicated Casino Royal Bar nearby when you fancy a breather. You must be 18 or over to gamble, so it is strictly grown-up playtime.

Pools

On Deck 13, Coral Bay and Cayo Levantado give you two outdoor spots for a swim, a soak in a nearby whirlpool bath, or the serious business of claiming a lounger. A giant poolside cinema screen adds a little extra to your sea day.

Pirana Bar sits by Coral Bay, while Mojito Bar serves cocktails and gelato nearby. Flip-flops are sensible around the pool, and under-16s need an adult with them.
