Norwegian Cruises definitely raised the bar when they debuted the Epic in 2010, as she's home to an array of stylish designs, exquisite dining venues, amazing entertainment and an extensive entertainment programme. She also offers a new wave of accommodation from Studios for the solo traveller to private Villas that come with a butler and concierge.

Her 2015 revitalisation made some significant improvements to her already impressive entertainment and activity venues. Restaurants

The Manhattan Room Restaurant

This main dining room has a New York City Supper Club theme and offers spectacular views from their floor to ceiling windows. It opens daily for a three-course dinner from 6.00 pm to 10.30 pm. They offer two options, you can either choose from the classic selections which they serve every day, or you can be a bit more adventurous and choose one of the chef's signature specialities, which change daily. It's a fantastic place to linger for dinner as they also offer entertainment such as musical shows.

Taste Restaurant

This is the Epic's second main dining room, which can seat up to 534 people and serve breakfast lunch and dinner daily. The meals are served by a waiter between 7.00 am and 9.00 am for breakfast, lunch is from 12.00 pm to 2.30 pm and dinner is served from 5.30 pm to 10.00 pm. There are plenty of breakfast options available, lunch has three courses and you have two options for dinner, as in the Manhattan Room restaurant.

O'Sheehan's Neighbourhood Bar & Grill

O'Sheehans is open 24 hours a day and is the perfect place to get your fill of British style breakfasts and pub food. Expect a full English breakfast and pub classics like fish and chips and chicken wings. They also have their own Ice Cream bar, where you can buy your favourite ice cream or milkshake.

Shanghai's Chinese Restaurants

This select dining venue is available for fee dining every night from 5.30 pm to 10.30 pm. It has a vibrant open kitchen where you can watch your food being prepared. To complement the cuisine, the drink list includes Asian beer and cocktails such as Asian Pear Mojito. It's a good idea to make a reservation and this can be done via phone or at the Reservations Desk in Le Bistro on deck five.

Garden Cafe

The lovely Garden Cafe buffet has plenty of space available, but the seats become much busier during their peak hours that range from 8 to 9:30 am on port days and noon to 1 pm for lunch on sea days. They serve daily breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as having some evening snacks available.

Le Bistro

This remarkable restaurant has classically French decor, with stylish indoor seating as well as more relaxed alfresco outdoor seating. It has some of the best French cuisine available ranging from appetisers, soups and salads to meats and seafood, and some classic desserts such as Apple Tatin and Creme Brulee. Reservations are recommended.

Cagney's Steakhouse

Cagney's is an a la carte restaurant with a traditional thirties steak house feel. Some of the menu highlights include: several steak cuts along with lamb, veal and pork chops; surf and turf; grilled yellowfin tuna steak, grilled salmon, jumbo shrimp skewers and a fried fisherman's platter. Reservations are recommended.

Moderno Churrascaria

This delightful South American restaurant has an a la carte menu and opens daily for dinner. It is located on deck eight and operates on a red and green card system. If you haven't seen this before it means that if you pick green, the waiters will keep offering you tasty skewers of barbecued meats which is carved at your table and once you are full, you simply indicate your red card to stop service. It is a real treat and comes highly recommended to meat lovers.

Teppanyaki

This intimate Japanese dining venue only serves a small number of guests at any one time, so reservations come highly recommended. This unique restaurant allows you to see Japanese hibachi meals cooked in front of you by chef's performing tricks with the food and their cooking utensils.

Yakitori & Sushi

This intimate a la carte sushi and sashimi bar offers Japanese delights in more serene surrounds. Dishes served in this cosy venue start with appetisers such as miso soup and sesame seaweed salad followed by ura maki rolls and grilled yakitori dishes.

La Cucina

This brilliant a la carte dining venue offers fantastic Italian food like pizza and pasta, fresh salads, Italian desserts, great wine and Italian drinks like espresso and cappuccinos to round off your meal. Children are welcome and those under the age of twelve can eat for free from the normal kid's menu.

Bars and Lounges

O'Sheehan's Bar

This sports bar has seating for 275 guests and offers three ten-pin bowling lanes. Bowling games costs $5 each and is a lot of fun. The pub is open 24 hours a day, serving pub food and screening all the top sporting events on its premium plasma TV screens. It has a traditional sports pub theme, which is complemented by its darts board and pool tables.

Humidor Cigar Lounge

This cosy dark-red smoking lounge has the feel of a gentlemen' club and is open around the clock. They sell some premium hand-rolled cigars and the venue tends to be busy in the evenings.

Maltings Whiskey Bar

The stylish Maltings beer and whiskey Bar has a great backdrop of evocative old movie posters and photos of the stars. They offer beer and tequila tastings and host scavenger hunts and air some sporting events for guests' entertainment.

Wasabi Sake Bar

This is the perfect place on deck seven to sip some hot sake or go kamikaze with an Ichi, Ni, San sake "bomb" downed in one swallow. They open at 5pm and stay open until late.

The Cavern

The Cavern is a replica of the Liverpool-based club where The Beatles got their start. They have some great bands performing here live, including a very talented Beatles tribute band.

Svedka and Inniskillin Ice Bar

The Ice Bar cocktail bar is called Ice Bar for a reason: it has a constant temperature of eight degrees below zero. Because of this frosty temperature, it's able to host ice sculptures and furniture carved out of pure ice. Some of their best ice sculptures are American icons such as the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Chrysler building. It has a cosy atmosphere, only host 25 guests at a time and has a maximum visit of 45 minutes per time.

Activities & Entertainment

Epic Theatre

The Norwegian Epic's theatre is the ship's main theatre and has some incredible productions such as Legends in Concert, which pays homage to big acts like Whitney Houston and Rod Stewart. The famous Blue Man group also performs here. Note that both these acts are very popular and as there is limited seats available, it's best to reserve a seat if you want to catch it on a specific night.

Headliners Comedy Club

This brilliant comedy club hosts popular acts like Howl at the moon and acts from the Second City Comedy Troup. They also have entertainment during the day such as trivia contests. You can book a seat at their box office which is situated on deck seven.

Rock Climbing Wall

Other outdoor diversions on Deck 15 include a rock-climbing wall and an industry-first rappelling wall.

Casino

The epic casino over 18's entertainment venue is on deck six and has a vast array of slot machines as well as several gaming tables which offers the likes of Craps, Roulette, Poker and Blackjack. It is served by its own full bar and cigarette smoking is allowed, although they do not allow pipe or cigar smoking in there.

SplashGolf

This fun new attraction in the Splash and Play Zone is an interactive water-based game which combines two elements of fun - water and mini-golf. This is a great way for the whole family to enjoy themselves, so why not challenge the little ones to a round of nine holes with water jets?

Mandara Spa

The Mandara Spa offers several treatment rooms, a thermal suite and salt room, as well as a full-service salon and barber shop. Allow yourself to be pampered by some of the best spa treatments available. Or you can really push the boat out with the 75-minute 24 Karat Gold Facial or relax with a 75-minute bamboo massage.

Pulse Fitness Centre

The gym features equipment like treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machines, bikes and free weights. Fitness staff offer world class personal training and group fitness classes, some of which are charged for. The gym area is also used for complimentary seminars and fitness talks, usually aimed at selling a product or additional services.

Kids Clubs

Kids have the same amount of fun than their parents aboard the Norwegian Epic. This is due to the free Splash Academy and Entourage programmes. Splash Academy was introduced during 2012 and caters for children aged 6 months - 12 years, while Entourage entertains teenagers.
