Norwegian Joy shares many of the same features and facilities as here hugely successful sister ship, Norwegian Bliss. She's perfect for families, offering an unarguably generous array of things to do and places to eat onboard, as well as having several quiet spots for couples and single travellers to relax.

This beautiful and classy ship was built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, and was designed for improved energy efficiency to meet Alaska's environmental regulations. Although she was initially purpose built for the Chinese market and has been sailing in China full time, she is due to relocate to the United States, next year in 2019.

Taste Restaurant

This is one of the Norwegian Joy's three brilliant main dining rooms, which serves up a variety of culinary delights to please every palate. The menu changes daily and is shared with the other main dining rooms. Food is included in the cost of your cruise; while speciality drinks, alcoholic beverages, bottled water, beer, wine and soft drinks are at current menu pricing.

The Manhattan Room

This main restaurant is fashioned after a New York City Supper Club and has its own dance floor and bandstand. It offers brilliant panoramic ocean views from its very large windows. This very stylish dining room only opens for dinner daily from 5.30 PM until midnight.

Savor Restaurant

This is the second main dining room and it serves cuisine with a contemporary flair. It shares its menu with the other two main dining rooms and offers traditional cuisine with a contemporary flair. It opens daily for dinner.

Garden Cafe

The lovely Garden Cafe buffet serves daily breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as having some evening snacks available. While there's plenty of space available, the seats become much busier during their peak hours that range from 8 to 9:30 am on port days and noon to 1 pm for lunch on sea days.

Teppanyaki

This intimate Japanese dining venue only serves a small number of guests at any one time, so reservations come highly recommended. This unique restaurant allows you to see Japanese hibachi meals cooked in front of you by chefs performing tricks with the food and their cooking utensils.

Sakura & Hibiscus

These new-to-the-line restaurants give diners the option to prepare their own meal in Korean hot pots or at a traditional Korean barbecue table.

Food Republic

Food Republic was created in partnership with The Pubbelly Restaurant Group and is a big hit with guests. They serve tapas-sized dishes from around the world, with an emphasis on Asian cuisine. The menu has seven separate sections for sushi; hand held foods, the grill republic, sharing plates, noodles, rice and soups, dumplings, and the sugar pump for desserts.

Cagney's Steakhouse

Cagney's is an a la carte restaurant with a traditional thirties steak house feel. Some of the menu highlights include: several steak cuts along with lamb, veal and pork chops; surf and turf; grilled yellowfin tuna steak, grilled salmon, jumbo shrimp skewers and a fried fisherman's platter.

La Cucina

This brilliant a la carte dining venue offers fantastic Italian food like pizza and pasta, fresh salads, Italian desserts, great wine and Italian drinks like espresso and cappuccinos to round off your meal.

Le Bistro

This remarkable restaurant has classically French decor, with stylish indoor seating as well as more relaxed alfresco outdoor seating. It has some of the best French cuisine available ranging from appetisers, soups and salads to meats and seafood, and some classic desserts such as Apple Tatin and Creme Brulee.

Ocean Blue

Step into the delightful world of Ocean Blue where an irresistibly tantalizing dining adventure awaits! Guests are welcomed to indulge in their choice of seating, whether indoors for cosy ambiance or outdoors on The Waterfront for a refreshing breeze and picturesque views. Don't miss out on this culinary delight!

American Diner

This relaxing restaurant serves American comfort food, such as meatloaf, pot pies, burgers and fried chicken.

Bars and Lounges

Atrium Bar

This Atrium cocktail and coffee bar is located on deck six and opens from 7 AM to late daily. It has a great range of speciality coffees with complimentary scones, muffins, biscuits, cupcakes and pastries. At night, it transforms into a bar, which serves wine and cocktails. While sitting here, you will be able to enjoy the live music played at the Atrium and they sometimes have seminars available during the day.

Mixx Bar

This cocktail bar on deck six is perfect for upscale cocktails and wines.

La Cave

Making its debut on Joy, this upscale wine bar is for wine tasting and pairings, or a pre-dinner drink.

Joy Tea Room

This lovely tea room replaced Norwegian mainstay, O'Sheehan's on deck seven, and is dedicated to tea and snacks.

VIBE

This adults-only beach club-style bar features loungers and hot tubs and is accessible via a limited number of daily guest passes.

Karaoke Rooms

The Norwegian Joy has eight private karaoke rooms, which can accommodate groups of four to eight people for a fee. It's a great way to have some fun with friends but the number of rooms may be reduced in future.

Activities & Entertainment

Joy Theatre

The Joy Theatre can be found on deck seven and features two shows: Paradis, inspired by a Moulin Rouge-style Parisian club; and Elements, a revue-type show with music, acrobatics and dance.

Galaxy Pavilion

Step inside the Galaxy Pavilion and into a virtual world unlike anything you've ever seen. Immersive virtual reality experiences. Thrilling simulator rides. Interactive video walls. This is just the beginning of an exciting new world to discover.

Casino

This massive casino is the largest in the Norwegian Cruises fleet and takes up most of deck even. They have help on hand for beginners as well as a VIP Casino for high rollers, on the deck below, which serves some food.

Serenity Park

This is located on the main pool deck, which is on deck sixteen. As the ship was created especially with Chinese passengers in mind, there are more places in which to walk, rest under shade (in the form of plastic trees) and practice tai chi or yoga. This means that the pool is smaller and to one side, with much fewer sun loungers, while the rest of the deck has a park feel.

Race Track

Norwegian Joy is the proud owner of one the first race tracks at sea, with this two-level competitive track designed to put your driving skills to the test. This is a great activity for adrenaline junkies who would like to try their hand at whizzing through hair-pin bends while seeing the ocean blur by.

Mandara Spa

This decadent spa features hot tubs, a Finnish sauna, steam room and thalassotherapy pool as well as several treatment rooms. Treatments on offer include reflexology, acupuncture and a range of massages and beauty treatments such as manicures and pedicures.

Pulse Fitness Centre

The gym features TechnoGym equipment like treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machines, bikes and free weights. It also offers classes like indoor cycling, step aerobics, Zumba, yoga and Pilates. There is a running track on Deck 17.

Kids Clubs

The Splash Academy is split into three age appropriate groups for little ones, kids and teenagers. They also have a games arcade, which charges a small fee per game played. If you want to enjoy some activities with your children, check out their daily Freestyle activity schedule for some ideas.

They can even enrol in Circus School where they will learn and perform all kinds of skills and cool tricks in their workshops.
