Icon of the Seas is not merely the world's biggest cruise ship: it is a different category of holiday altogether. Launched by Royal Caribbean in January 2024, she weighs 250,800 gross tonnes, stretches 365 metres from bow to stern and carries up to 7,600 guests across 20 decks. There are seven pools, six waterslides, the world's largest waterpark at sea (Category 6), an ice-skating rink, a mini-golf course, a surf simulator and over 40 places to eat and drink. If that sounds overwhelming, it is worth knowing that the ship is designed as a series of interconnected neighbourhoods, each with its own atmosphere, so it never feels like a crowd.
