The Ovation of the Seas is a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, which is the third vessel in the Quantum class and similar to her two sister ships, the Quantum of the Seas and the Anthem of the Seas. She sails in summer climates all year by home porting in Tianjin in the northern hemisphere in their summer season and then repositioning to Sydney for its southern summer season fun.

The new Quantum class ships are true game changers with space age design, edge of your seat entertainment and dining that is truly out of this world. Like her sister ships, she has a RipCord by iFLY skydiving simulator, which is an incredible experience for anyone brave enough to chance it.

Restaurants

The Grande

Located on deck 3, the Grande was first meant for formal dining but Is now used for casual dining as well, which means you can now enjoy breakfast in its elegant surroundings. The tables seat between two and eight guests and are arranged pretty close to each other. An a la carte breakfast is served from 8 AM to 9:30 AM and dinner takes place between 5.15 PM to 9.30 PM.

Silk

Silk can be found on deck 4 and used to be an Asian restaurant but now serve modern American fare. It has kept its beautiful Chinese decor and opens for dinner daily at between 5:15 PM and 9 PM.

Chic

The Chic restaurant on deck 3 opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is between 8 AM and 9:30 AM, lunch is between 11.30 AM to 1 PM (only on sea days) and dinner is from 5.15 PM to 9.30 PM.

American Icon Grill

If you're after some American style food, this restaurant on deck 4 is the perfect place. It opens for dinner daily between 5.15 PM and 9 PM.

Jamie's Italian

This Jamie Oliver restaurant on deck five opens daily for lunch and dinner. It was the first of Oliver's restaurants at sea and is on the upper level of the Royal Esplanade. Lunch and dinner menus are the same, with lunch being between noon and 1:30 PM and dinner being between 5:30 and 9 PM. This is a great place to go for the most affordable wines on board.

La Patisserie

This a la carte restaurant on deck 4 has some fantastic sweet treats that are as pretty as they taste. Enjoy a delicate macaron or hand-crafted cupcake with the coffee of your choice. It opens from 6 AM to 11 PM daily.

Bars and Lounges

Michael's Genuine Pub

This British style pub on deck four was created by Miami celebrity chef, Michael Schwartz and has a la carte pricing. Expect traditional country pub specials such a pickles and devilled eggs, pork scratchings and bangers with mash.

Music Hall

This large lounge spans decks 3 and 4 and can accommodate up to 600 guests. It gets really busy at night and at times it only has standing room available. It is popular among guests who enjoy their regular tribute band, karaoke nights, as well as a rockaoke event, where you can sing karaoke while being accompanied by their rock band.

Two70

This is a brilliant technologically filled club, which spans decks five and six. At night, its floor to ceiling glass window transforms into a Vistarama on which they project ultra-HD projected images. This is also where you will be able to take part in a Silent disco a couple of nights of the cruise. If you have no idea what a silent disco is, it is a disco where everyone is wearing head phones and will be able to switch between oldies music or a live mix from the ship's resident DJ. It's a novel experience and great fun.

Adventure Ocean Kids Club

Royal Caribbean is known as a family friendly cruise line and Ovation is no exception, with facilities available from the tiniest tots to the notoriously harder to please teenagers. The hub of the action is the Adventure Ocean kids club, which takes care of kids from as little as six months up to eleven years. Little ones love Royal Caribbean's partnership with Dreamworks, as they get to have themed parties and meet up with their favourite characters from Shrek, Madagascar, and other screen favourites.
