This glamorous, technology-packed lounge at the aft of Deck 7 is built for Carousel Productions at Sea, not a quiet after-dinner corner. Take in ROCK CIRCUS or HOUSE OF HOUDINI, where acrobatics, live music and special effects do not believe in playing it safe.

Your visit includes a pre-show experience, a named Signature Cocktail and complimentary hot and cold snacks. Book the relevant cocktail package, as standard drinks packages are not accepted during shows, then arrive promptly: no entry after the show starts.

Perched on Deck 18, Pyramids, Sky Lounge is where you meet friends for an aperitif, linger over an after-dinner cocktail and watch the evening find its rhythm. Scenic views and art-deco-inspired surroundings do rather a lot of the heavy lifting.

Try one of the molecular cocktails, nibble on complimentary hot and cold snacks, then stay for live piano music or jazz from a trio at night. There is also a smoking room with a humidor.

Part American diner, part match-day base, Sports Bar on Deck 16 is where you can settle in for major sporting events, entertainment and a sociable drink after the arcade or bowling.

Choose from cold beer, cocktails, energy drinks, protein shakes and juices, with complimentary hot dogs for a handy snack. There are 24 seats, so it suits a quick pit stop as neatly as a longer watch.

A pool-side ice-cream bar on Deck 19, Polar Bar is made for a quick cool-down between Aquapark laps and sun lounger sessions.

You can pick up ice cream, frozen treats and fun snacks that are easy to eat on the move. A small stop, perhaps, but one likely to prove very popular with the family.

Pool time calls for something cold. On Deck 15, beside the Marketplace Buffet and close to Atmosphere Pool, this casual outdoor stop serves six flavours of soft ice cream, fresh fruit treats and tropical drinks.

Grab a seat in the open air, then add a frozen drink or colada to the plan. Ideal for a sweet pause between swims.

Reserved for MSC Yacht Club guests, Top Sail Lounge is a panoramic retreat at the front of the ship on Deck 16. Settle in with craft cocktails, fine wine, coffee or something softer, while the sea takes care of the view.

Drop by for the High Tea moment, an Officer Welcome Onboard cocktail or live music each evening. Casual works by day, but swap swimwear for smart casual after dark.

Take your sea day to Deck 18, Pyramids, where Horizon Bar pairs panoramic views with a perch overlooking the Horizon Amphitheatre. It is an outdoor stop for soft drinks, cocktails, alcoholic drinks and speciality coffees.

Settle into a nearby sunbed or table and let the service come to you. This one is weather-dependent, so make the most of a bright spell when it appears.

Poolside plans, sorted. Atmosphere Bar South sits beside the Atmosphere Pool on Deck 15, Tour Eiffel, serving freshly grilled food prepared by the chefs.

Pull up one of 84 seats for a relaxed bite, then keep the pool day moving with a drink. Food is listed as available 24 hours a day, though bar service hours are not specified.

Poolside, sociable and pleasingly easy to find, Atmosphere Bar North sits on Deck 15, the Tour Eiffel deck, beside the Atmosphere Pool and dancing floor.

Pull up a comfortable seat and choose from signature cocktails, beers, coladas, soft drinks, coffee or tea. You can focus on the lounging, while the pool deck supplies the atmosphere.

Part karaoke bar, part comedy club, part live studio, TV Studio & Bar turns an ordinary evening into something worth talking about. You can settle in for live games, quizzes and talent contests, or take the microphone yourself.

Find it amidships on Deck 7, Taj Mahal, with cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks on hand. Check the daily programme for that day’s timings, as there is no fixed published schedule.

Casino Imperiale on Deck 7, Taj Mahal, pairs casino action with a stylish bar counter and multiple monitors. Take your pick from live table games, slot machines, bingo and lottery, then pause at the 23-seat lower bar to consider your next move.

Fancy learning before you wager? MSC offers lessons in blackjack, poker, roulette and dice. You must be 18 or over to gamble, or 21 on Alaska cruises.

A traditional English pub on Deck 7, Brass Anchor brings soft green tones, low lighting and booth seating to the upper Galleria Meraviglia. It is a properly pub-like pause between whatever the ship has planned next.

Settle in with a craft beer and fish and chips, or take a table outside to look over the promenade. There is even space for a small band, because a quiet pint is lovely, but a pint with a soundtrack has its moments.

Poolside, but with a fresher plan. On Deck 15, Tour Eiffel, Bamboo Bar serves fruit drinks, from smoothies and coolers to fruit lassis and exotic fruit cocktails.

Choose an energy or protein shot in your drink, then return to the forward solarium with something far more virtuous than your usual poolside order.

Settle in at this pre-dinner cocktail bar on Deck 6, beside the Galleria Meraviglia promenade. With 60 seats and a full-size motorbike and sidecar at its centre, it is not exactly designed for blending into the background.

Order beer, wine or a speciality cocktail, including the Purple Rain, then enjoy a little prime people-watching before or after dinner. Applicable MSC drinks packages may cover selected drinks.

A proper spot for a pre-dinner toast, Champagne Bar pairs champagne, prosecco and sparkling wines from around the world with caviar, oysters and crab. The crushed-ice display brings a suitably polished flourish.

You will find it on Deck 7, Taj Mahal. Settle in for bubbles and seafood when the occasion calls for it, or when you simply fancy making an ordinary sea day rather less ordinary.

At the base of the Infinity Atrium on Deck 5, Infinity Bar is an easy meeting point before dinner, or whenever a coffee break turns into something stronger.

Choose from traditional aperitifs, Signature Cocktails and contemporary classics. With 28 seats, it is a good spot to arrive early if you are meeting friends before your meal.

Set beside the Marketplace Buffet on Deck 15, this aft buffet bar and wine cellar gives you a handy place to pick up a drink with sea views on the side.

Pair it with freshly baked bread, international dishes or a late snack from the adjoining buffet. It is open for approximately 20 hours a day, so your appetite need not watch the clock.

When the evening needs a little more volume, head aft to Deck 18. Attic Club is MSC Meraviglia’s nightclub, with a dance floor overlooking the Seaplex and music that leans towards techno.

Order a cocktail, Spritz, Mojito, mocktail, beer or cider, then dance late into the night. It is an indoor bar linked with the aft Horizon Bar, so you can keep the night moving without chasing it around the ship.
