Best MSC Cruise Ships
MSC Cruises has 22 cruise ships currently active in its fleet, offering an exciting experience across entertainment, dining and other unique and innovative features. Visiting 300 destinations across 100 countries, we’ve put together some of our favourite MSC ships to help you choose your next cruise experience.
Best MSC Cruise Ship for Adults
There are plenty of cruises designed for adults to enjoy, but we’ve picked some of our favourites to share with you.
MSC Grandiosa
The MSC Grandiosa is one of 3 Meraviglia Plus-class cruise ships that MSC Cruises operates. This 331m long ship can hold up to 6,334 at maximum capacity with over 1,700 staff onboard to make your cruise holiday a special one.
The Grandiosa is famous for the Galleria Grandiosa, an indoor promenade illuminated by a concave LED screen that stretches the entire length of the promenade. The Galleria comes into its own once the sun sets by being used as part of shows, concerts, discos and parties.
As well as this, you can make use of the onboard spa, the incredible range of food and drink options, and even a full-sized bowling alley, giving you plenty of time to unwind and enjoy yourself while you’re at sea.
MSC Seaside
The MSC Seaside is designed specifically for cruises in warm climates, maximising the outdoor space on board to mimic a holiday by the seaside (in Barbados rather than Blackpool).
The ship follows the sun, with winter itineraries around the Caribbean and summer trips around the Mediterranean, and thanks to the adult-only Top 19 Solarium, you can enjoy a more private sundeck experience.
You can expect the same world-class dining experience as you’d find on any MSC cruise. Butcher’s Cut is an American-style steakhouse that delivers the highest grade Angus beef that’s been aged and cooked to perfection, alongside New World wines and cocktails that will delight your tastebuds.
MSC Virtuosa
The MSC Virtuosa is the second Meraviglia Plus class cruise ship to feature on our list, demonstrating just how incredible these ships are. Their enormity allows them to cater to a large audience, fitting entertainment, fine dining, and leisure all into one cruise ship. Being one of the newer ships, you can benefit from top-tier facilities, with highlights including the Carousel Lounge showcasing Cirque-style performances and a quieter atmosphere than some of the more family-centric ships.
The Starship Club is a unique addition to the MSC Virtuosa, giving you a glimpse of what the future of cruising could look like. Rob, the first-ever humanoid robotic bartender at sea, will take your orders and deliver you cocktails that are out of this world.
Looking to stay a little more grounded, book yourself into the MSC Aurea Spa to unwind with a massage, facial, or other beauty services. It’s also a great place to get a sweat on, with a fully kitted-out Technogym cardio and strength space.
Best MSC Cruise Ship for Families
While most cruises are family-friendly, MSC has tailored some of its cruises specifically to families looking for a great cruise holiday.
MSC Seashore
A stunningly futuristic cruise ship that will have the entire family satisfied. It takes design inspiration from New York City, complete with a replica of the Statue of Liberty and an 8.5m LED wall that displays the New York skyline as if you were there. This hub of retail and entertainment spans four decks.
Outside, MSC Seahorse features a pirate-themed aquapark, which mixes wet and dry attractions for hours of fun, alongside a zip-line and Robotron, a state-of-the-art thrill ride.
MSC Seahorse also has the largest dedicated space for kids, over 700m2. It’s got games consoles, table football, and the special event: vent: the LEGO® Experience On Board, a day dedicated to bricks and activities for the whole family.
MSC World Europa
MSC World Europa is MSC’s flagship vessel, not only being the largest but also the most luxurious. The cruise has a focus on delivering world-class food, leisure, and entertainment while still targeting sustainability.
Some of the entertainment onboard includes the Luna Park Arena, a state-of-the-art entertainment venue that hosts musical acts and shows. During the day, the arena is home to virtual reality experiences and things like the Wake Up Rave, a dance activity for kids! Looking for something with a bit more thrill? The MSC World Europa is home to the Venom Drop, the longest dry slide at sea.
In terms of food, there’s plenty on board for the whole family. From casual dining in HOLA! Tacos & Cantina to Chef’s Garden Kitchen, a unique restaurant that creatively blends Nordic gastronomic traditions with the modern dining experience.
MSC Virtuosa
Virtuosa has entertainment at its core. The Savannah Aquapark provides bags of fun for the whole family, while Le Grand Theatre hosts musical events and acts like Dirty Dancing in Concert for the adults. There’s also baby and kids clubs, along with partnerships with brands like LEGO and Chicco, so parents can have some adult-only time and enjoy some of the other facilities on board.
Food outlets are also numerous on board the MSC Virtuosa. The Indochine Restaurant is the ship’s signature dining destination, serving up French-Vietnamese dishes in a stunning setting. With both vegan and vegetarian options on board, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during your stay.
There’s also the MSC Yacht Club, an exclusive area with the best cabins and a reserved area that is only available to YC members. There’s also 24-hour butler service, dedicated massage rooms and full access to the Thermal Suite in the MSC Aurea Spa.
MSC World America
MSC World America followed the launch of MSC World Europa, taking the opulent dining destinations, eclectic entertainment, and the extravagant edge to a Caribbean itinerary.
It’s a perfect cruise for families because it perfectly caters to both adults and kids, providing hours of entertainment so that no one is bored. The ship features Cliffhanger, the only over-water swing ride at sea, getting you even closer to the sea breeze while putting you on the edge of your seat… literally!
If you’d rather do something a bit more chilled, there are an incredible 6 pools, with two Zen pools reserved just for adults, giving the parents a bit of time to relax while the kids are being entertained by the range of kids’ clubs. On board, you’ll find a Mini Club (aged 3-6), Junior Club (7-11), Young Club (12-14), Teen Club (15-17), and even a Kids Club for youngsters under 3 years old.
Best MSC Cruise Ship for Couples
Looking for a cruise ship with a little bit of romance? We’ve picked out a few of our favourites for you and your partner to choose from.
MSC Bellissima
MSC Bellissima provides an elegant nighttime ambience through its elegant design and romantic venues. If you fancy a day or evening at the theatre, you can book your tickets to a show at the London Theatre, taking inspiration from the West End to showcase an incredible line-up of entertainment. There’s also the champagne bar and dining under an LED sky dome.
Perhaps a spa day is more up your street? No problem! MSC Aurea Spa is a luxurious Balinese spa which features thermal spaces, a beauty salon to get your nails looking divine, and other relaxation spaces to help you unwind, ready for your next excursion.
Or maybe you’re a couple of thrill seekers? MSC has teamed up with Formula 1 to give passengers a taste of what it’s like to get behind the wheel of an F1 car. MSC Formula Racer is an immersive driving simulator exclusive to MSC that’ll have you racing around iconic tracks like Silverstone, Spa and Imola.
MSC Meraviglia
MSC Meraviglia is a perfect mix of entertainment and cosy, romantic vibes. It provides enough entertainment that you’ll never be bored while you’re at sea, while also being spacious enough to allow you to explore the numerous bars and restaurants at your own pace.
The Broadway Theatre offers at least 6 different shows – even on 7-night cruises! There’s an incredible amount of entertainment on board this ship. MSC’s Carousel at Sea Productions features shows like Rock Circus, featuring acrobats, musicians and the greatest rock hits, and House of Houdini, a celebration of some of the most wondrous illusions of Harry Houdini.
You can also take advantage of the Galleria Meraviglia, an indoor promenade that’s just perfect for a romantic stroll after dinner.
MSC Euribia
When the Euribia was launched, MSC devoted itself to making the ship the most eco-friendly it could be without skimping on the Italian flair and romance you’d expect from a couple’s cruise.
The ship features a sleek décor that is inspired by the ocean, with the hashtag #SaveTheSea painted along the cruise’s hull alongside marine creatures that you might spot during your travels.
The ship features the longest LED dome at sea in the Galleria Euribia, a hub for socialising, shopping and eating. It’s a fabulous area that you can enjoy with a partner as if you were exploring an idyllic seaside town.
The Euribia also features MSC Yacht Club, so you can experience private areas of the ship that are exclusive to Yacht Club members for even more romance.
